FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, including the limits.

Is there a difference between iPhone and Android?

Both open the same page. On iPhone, hold the top edge of the phone against the card with the screen on. On Android, turn NFC on in settings and hold the back of the phone, near the middle or top, against the card. The exact spot varies by model, so if nothing happens, slide the phone slowly over the card.

Do I need an app?

No. The card opens a normal web page in the phone's browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Does the phone need internet?

Yes. The card holds only a link; the video is streamed from the web. Without a connection the page will not load. Try again on Wi-Fi or mobile data.

How long can the video be, and in what format?

Up to 60 seconds and 100 MB per video at launch (these limits may change). MP4 is the safest choice; MOV from an iPhone and WebM are also accepted. Landscape and portrait videos both work.

Is my video private?

By default, yes. Each card has its own unlisted link that search engines do not index, and the viewer page has no ads or tracking cookies. 'Unlisted' means anyone who has the card (or the link) can watch, so it is like a printed photograph that can be passed around. If a card is lost, contact us and we can disable it.

How durable is the card?

The card has no battery and no moving parts. We recommend treating the card like a printed photograph: avoid bending it sharply, soaking it or leaving it in strong heat. Detailed durability specifications will be published once we finish testing the final materials.

How long does shipping take?

Yes, we ship internationally. Production takes 2–3 business days, then delivery takes 4–7 business days to the United States, 5–7 business days to Canada and 10–15 business days elsewhere. Delays can happen in busy seasons or at customs. See the shipping page for details.

What is your returns policy?

Every item is personalised with your own photo and video, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges, and gift cards are not refundable. If your order arrives damaged or with a printing defect, contact us and we will make it right.

Can I order in bulk, for a wedding or an event?

Yes, and the more you order, the less each card costs: the price drops automatically at 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 cards. For 500 cards or more, contact us and we will prepare a quote. Photographers and planners can also ask about our reseller program.

How long will the link keep working?

Your video stays online for as long as ReelPrint operates, unless you ask us to delete it. If we ever need to close the service, we will give notice and a way to download your videos.

Is the experience accessible?

We build the pages to meet WCAG 2.1 AA: readable contrast, large tap targets, keyboard and screen-reader support. If you want captions, add them into your video before uploading, as burned-in subtitles will display. A separate caption-file option is something we are considering. Tell us if you need anything to make a card easier to use.

What if the card does not read?

Check that NFC is on (Android) and that the screen is on (iPhone). Remove a thick or metallic case, and slide the phone slowly over the card, since the reading spot is small. If it still fails, contact us and we will help or replace the card.

Does the card need charging or a battery?

No. There is nothing to charge and nothing to replace: it works whenever your phone touches it.
